About Throughline Design

 

I’m Kristin Erhard, the designer and maker behind Throughline Design. I handcraft each pair of earrings in my studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside Asheville, North Carolina. I started Throughline Design in 2021 as a way to step away from screen-based work and reconnect with the joy of making things by hand. The “throughline” — or what connects everything I create — is my love of the creative process from first idea to finished piece.

My background is in ceramic sculpture, and living in Denmark sparked a deep love for Scandinavian design. That influence shows up in everything I make — modern, elegant pieces that feel effortless, move easily from day to night, and are designed to be worn and loved for years.

 

All earrings are handcrafted in small batches using high-quality, lead- and nickel-free raw brass and components sourced from other small businesses. Every purchase supports not only my work, but also a broader community of independent makers and entrepreneurs.
